ABOUT US

We are a State-Licensed, Early Care and Education Facility for children ages 6 weeks – 12 years old. Each age group has their own separate classroom and each classroom has curriculum in place, which is carried out through lesson plans. Since we are a theme-based school, we have a different theme each week, and the classroom activities revolve around the weekly theme.

The management team at Chesterfield Academy chooses our teachers very carefully. Not only looking for dedicated teachers who have education and experience in the field of Early Childhood and Elementary Education, they also understand that it’s more than just about having a degree. You will find that the teachers at Chesterfield Academy are passionate about what they do each and every day, and that they are very nurturing, loving, and dedicated to the development of each child. Each potential candidate undergoes a lengthy interview process, which includes an interactive interview in the classroom of interest, working alongside the classroom teachers so that the teachers become an important part of the decision-making process. We have a wonderful team of teachers who help to maintain the positive atmosphere of Chesterfield Academy!

We believe that parent involvement is a huge part of a child’s school success, so Chesterfield Academy gives parents several opportunities to volunteer or be a part of our school-wide activities and events! From classroom parties, to Grandparents Day Tea, to our Open House or our Messy Play Night, or even our Pre-Kindergarten Graduation, we welcome all parents and family members to join us and celebrate your child’s school success!

We also believe that communication is key to developing and maintaining a positive relationship with your child’s school and teachers. This is why we send home a Daily Report each day to let you know what your child did each day. We also take lots of pictures each week, which we print off, post in the classrooms or hallways, and even email to our parents! We hold Parent-Teacher Conferences twice a year so you will have the opportunity to meet one-on-one with your child’s teacher and talk specifically about your child and his successes, go through his portfolio, and read through his developmental assessments.
