We are excited to announce that our Summer Adventure Summer Program for our school-age students begins May 30, 2011! We have unique weekly camps scheduled within the summer-long program. With our flexible schedule options, you can enroll your child for certain camps, certain days, or the entire summer! Sign up for the camps that best fit into your summer schedule.

WELCOME TO CAMP!!

Welcome to Summer Camp and to Chesterfield Academy! We will be doing a lot of getting-to-know-you projects, creating our classroom rules together, doing teambuilding activities, and enjoying a picnic in the park together. We will even begin growing our "Friendship Garden" outside!

Spectacular World of Sports

Children of all ages enjoy participating in sports, and it's an important life skill to learn how to play together as a team! Learning a sport can be challenging as well as fun, and we will be introducing the children to sports such as roller skating, volleyball, and horseshoes!

Scavenger Hunt Week

For any scavenger, the thrill is largely in the chase! Scavenger hunts channel kids' natural curiosity and get them digging in the dirt, thinking outside the box, and using teamwork. Bring your magnifying glass with you as we hunt for buried treasure, learn about maps, and even create our own maps using a compass.

Animal Adventures

The Humane Society is a wonderful resource for adults and children, and we will begin our week with a trip to the Humane Society! We will learn about how we can help animals in need,

The Great Outdoors

Even though we can't make a bonfire at school, we can still enjoy putting up a tent and going on an outdoor excursion during our Great Outdoors week! We will learn about the habitats of woodland creatures in Missouri, build a bird's nest, and make s'mores to share!

Culinary Camp

During this camp, we will invite parents from other countries to be our "guest chefs" and help the children create and sample cuisines of foreign places! We will use ingredients we may not be familiar with, learn how to safely handle a knife, and work on measurement and chemistry!

Community Service Week (2 weeks)

Come get involved in helping our community during this summer camp! We will be focusing on donating our time and efforts to our local Humane Society, getting involved with the St. Louis FoodBank, and have a recycling competition! Volunteering can teach children a sense of responsibility, and that one person actually can make a difference. It also teaches them the benefit of sacrifice, as well as tolerance for people different from themselves. If volunteering begins at an early age, it can become a valuable part of kids' lives!

Ooey, Gooey Science!

What happens when you mix baking soda and vinegar together?? What about mixing cornstarch and water?? How do you make Flubber and will it really make a car fly?? These are some questions we will be answering during Ooey, Gooey Science week, as well as doing many other messy activities that will definitely put our paint smocks and thinking caps to good use!

World Travelers

Grab your suitcase, get your passport, and get ready to travel with us! We will be "visiting" different parts of the world this week such as China, India, and Australia. We will be experiencing different foods, different clothes, and different cultures, and we will get our passport stamped every time we visit a new location! We will even be taking a trip to the Chesterfield Airport so we can tour a small airplane and speak with a pilot!

Operation: Art Exploration

Our final week of our Summer Adventure will wrap up with this camp focused on working together with friends to create keepsakes! We will learn the process of how to tie-dye clothing and then make our own tie-dye T-shirts! Using photos from our Summer Adventure at Chesterfield Academy, we will create picture frames and an "End of Summer" scrapbook! What a memorable summer this will be!

Our Activity Fees are as follows:

Enroll for 1-3 weeks of the summer: $45.00 activity fee + weekly tuition

Enroll for 4-7 weeks of the summer: $100.00 activity fee + weekly tuition

Enroll for 8-11 weeks of the summer: $150.00 activity fee + weekly tuition

Our activity fees cover the cost of all field trips, transportation, special events, and additional supplies for projects and special activities throughout the summer.
